Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American actress and a singer. Her early Broadway role titles included Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. She was awarded the Tony Award for Best Featured actress in the Play in the role of Essie Carmichael from You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashley Tony Award winning actor and actress has collaborated with actors, directors, and directors on stage and screen throughout her entire career. Ashford will next be seen with Kumail Nannjiani in Robert Siegel's Hulu Limited Series Welcome to Chippendales premiering November 22. Ashford is currently working for Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust with Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. In the form of a Hulu Original, the film will be made available to Disney DTC's platforms. Ashford will return to Broadway in 2023 with the role of Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production will be held taking place at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. This production will be conducted by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team that created Hamilton. Ashford previously starred as Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment which is based on the national crisis which picked into Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters for the first impeachment trial in more than 100 years. Ashford starred for two seasons in CBS popular comedy B Positive. It was written by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. The show also featured Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen. Additional Broadway performances for Ashford are Sunday in the Park, with George Wicked legally Blonde, and her performance as Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots. For this performance she received a Tony Award nomination. Ashford was raised and born in Denver and now divides the time in Los Angeles, and New York.
