Mena Alexandra suvari, born February 13, 1979 in America, is an actor as well as a fashion designer and model. Shortly after beginning her acting career Mena Alexandra Suvari starred in guest roles for 1990s television shows Boy Meets World and High Incident. The film debut came with the drama Nowhere that was released in 1997. With American Beauty and American Pie her name was recognized for her performances. Her next appearance was in Loser (2000), with American Pie actor Jason Biggs. Later she played the lead role on the screen in Sugar & Spice (2002). She had appearances in the independent 2002 drama Spun and the 2004 thriller film Trauma. In HBO's drama show Six Feet Under. In 2004 she received an award for an Outstanding Cast member at the Screen Actors Guild Awards. In 2008, Suvari was cast in several movies such as Day of the Dead The Mysteries of Pittsburgh and also as in the adaptation to The Garden of Eden. Suvari, a Lancome Paris Adaptive model and Lancome Paris cosmetics print ad model has been featured on numerous fashion magazines and blogs, including Vogue. She has been a supporter and advocate for the African Medical and Research Foundation, a prestigious organization that provides aid to Africans. In addition, she has been involved with issues of empowerment of women as well as charities which promote research into breast cancer and End Violence Against Women.
